Staycation

"The shoe that fits one person pinches another; there is no recipe for living that suits all cases."
- Carl Jung

Ahhhhh, staycations. Friday after work brought about vacation for Trevor and myself, which concluded yesterday with a trip to the Moncton Zoo. If you haven't been lately, they have two new bear cubs who were more than willing to entertain. Unlike Saint John, every animal made an appearance (with a friend) except the wolves. Next time maybe.

While there was a lot of being out, visiting and adventuring the food and exercise were alright but not great. The worse thing I ate would have been white flour and rice and the only bad thing about exercising was that I missed out on Friday. There was however walking each day. All in all, a good time was had.

Trevor may disagree though because he had to pick up a heart monitor from the Sussex Hospital yesterday and wear the thing, wires and all, for 24 hours. This lovely adventure ended with me having to rip the medical tap off his chest in four spots this afternoon. Those puppies were on there good. Ouch!

This evening though was quiet but good. I was a tad disappointed because I didn't get to see Amanda and Ethan tonight but perhaps Saturday. I did however get another pair of walking shoes! Huzza! The best part was that the cheaper pair were the comfy pair and that Sportcheck has a deal on right now, buy one get one half off, so Trev was able to get a pair of hikers that he was eye balling for the last week. It's so nice when everything works out. Here's hoping that everything now falls into place and I'm now able to do the walk in Hampton without blisters.

I did maybe have a moment of insanity tonight when we were shopping at Costco. We had only gone in to get berries but left with things that aren't in season. CHRISTMAS CRAP! Within five minutes we had cards, gift tags and a set of decorations in the cart. I did keep my mind about me somewhat, so there was no purchasing of wrapping paper. Seems wrong to buy the paper before the gifts. Plus, whos to say there won't be something more beautiful closer to the date. I'm not usually the biggest fan of Christmas, but tonight we obviously felt a tad excited about the whole deal.

Hope everyone's had a fantabulous week and you're all healthy and happy.
Here's to the weigh-in tomorrow and another liter of water.
