"Toughness is in the soul and spirit, not in muscles."
- Alex Karras

Today was my first day at my new gym, after being on hiatus from working out for a week. Needless to say I was shy at first. It's not that it was packed but just at the whole gym situation.

When you first walk into Curves it's bright, friendly, open and there is someone that usually greets you as soon as you're in sight. Co-ed gyms...sorta bright, heavier feeling, darker colors and it's more serious honestly. You're there to work, not to play.

After getting onto the treadmill I honestly felt as though I had someone in the back of my mind with a whip, pushing me to go a bit harder, faster and longer. I'm glad to say that I worked out for 47 minutes in total and I'm feeling a bit more comfortable in the new atmosphere. If I get home earlier than planned tonight hopefully I'll have the energy to go back and get in some more if possible.

Next week, willing that my hours are what they are suppose to be, I will be meeting with the trainer on Wednesday and Friday to go over some equipment and exercises so that I'm getting all that I can out of my new gym experience. Here's hoping that I feel and notice a difference like I was at Curves.

Trying new things,
Gillian
