"I don't believe in the after life, although I am bringing a change of underwear. "
- Woody Allen
Oh underwear. When you find a good pair they put a smile on your face and some pep in your step. Years ago Hanes brought out some that if they were the briefs or the boy shorts they were AWESOME! Unfortunately though, it wasn't long and they CHANGED the sizes. The tag still said the same but the material and fit had changed. I had bought a set before realizing this a long time ago.
Now though, I was excited when the ones that were small slid onto my frame without any trouble and felt the way the old ones did. This in mind when I went shopping this week I bought more....the bastards changed them again! They are even more freaking small, so I am going to have to lose more to wear my damn underwear.
Please companies, please! Stop changing your sizing! People aren't getting smaller. They are getting bigger. I don't understand why we are all doing this. Some people may think that if the sizes go smaller people will lose weight to fit into that new pair of jeans (in the size that used to fit)...nope, they are just going to smoosh their muffin top into them. When you go into a store now its not the L, XL and XXL sizes that are there, its the XXS, XS and S sizes.
I understand that you aren't always suppose to go by the size or the number when you are putting on clothes. You are suppose to go by fit but for someone that has been overweight for a while...shopping is never fun. Having to go to that bigger size isn't fun. It's upsetting, frustrating and rips your heart out. Shopping with my Mother was one of my nightmares that repeated every year when I was in school. It would end in a fight one way or another. I didn't want to be the girl in the fat clothes that were ugly, I wanted to be the girl that had all the new fun "in" stuff that all the other girls my age were wearing.
We along with clothing companies need to straighten this BS out. So when someone walks in to a store they know what is going to fit. Even more so when the fit was good before. At least this time around I know for a fact its the underwear that are shrinking and not my ass that is getting bigger.
Stretch, but not that much Stretch.
